First Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby

Huge prizes and huge thrills are coming to the Long Beach Charters this May 24th - September 13th, one of the sponsers of the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby.

Whether you are an avid fisherman or just enjoy a day on the water; this year you can fish for monthly cash prizes. All Fish will be weighed-in at the Ucluelet Boat Basin.

There will be three monthly prizes of $10,500:

• First Prize: $7,000
• Second Prize: $2,000
• Third Prize: $1,000
• Fourth Prize: $500

The 50 largest salmon (all five species of Pacific salmon are eligible) caught during the derby will earn a spot in the "Fish Off" on Saturday and Sunday, September 11th and 12th.

The Grand Prizes of up to $40,000 (based on the percentage of tickets sold) will be awarded that weekend at the closing barbeque and festivities.

To enter the derby, pick one of our fishing packages and purchase your derby ticket from our office. The tickets cost is $10 a day (up to four days) or $50 for an annual tickets.

The proceeds go to the Thorton Creek Salmon Hatchery.
